Thunder
roars and bolts of lightning shoot down like
arrows from the bows of the God's. Bitter icy
winds lash the earth, cutting, destroying the
fragile buds just peeking through, seeking
sunshine and gentle warm rain.
Then,
after the Storm has raged and finally we hear
only distant thunder, occasional streaks of soft
lightning, the rain slows to a slow
trickle that merely dampens our skin,
then,
then
comes the the calm: the warm sunshine that
soothes the battered buds, heals them so they
can grow. The gentle breeze rustles
through the tree's, the brilliant Cardinal sings
his song of joy, the raucous raven shrieks out
his defiance at the far off thunder.
Once
again, there is peace, calm, serenity, over the
land.

So
too is life,
Thunder
of angry words, lightning bolts of hurt that
shoot into our hearts. Lashing winds of
pain and disappointment, loss, and emptiness
leave us with throats soar, voices hoarse from
the sobs that came from the depths of our soul.
Finally we are quiet, exhausted from the pain
and emotions that have ripped us apart. Then
with the quiet, comes peace, a gentle ray of
hope, from somewhere deep inside us, buds and
begins to grow. The warmth of kind words from a
dear friend, watching the sunrise of a new
day, and once again we begin to heal.
To
grow, to become better than we were yesterday,
for from the storms of life, come the growth of
our being. What makes us the person we are,
strong . for we have endured yet another storm,
and survived to greet a new day with hope and
determination. The determination to be all we
can be, and the knowledge that we too mean
something. To someone, somewhere, we are
important.
