Life's Bridges

As we travel on our journey of life, we must cross many bridges.
Moving out of one phase of life and in to a new one.
But always, even if we do sometimes forget it, our Angel is there,
watching us, assuring us a safe crossing.

When the road on the other side of the bridge is full of trials, hurt and heartbreak, as it sometimes is,
we must remember these truths.
1. Never is our load so heavy, our hurt so deep, that others before us have not felt the same.
2. That as long as we Trust in our God, in his Angels who watch over us, this road will end, and we will again, cross our bridge in to happier, better times.

3. And most important, if we share our heavy load, our hurt, talk about it with someone who loves us,
they will share our load, and a shared load is half as heavy.

When we have crossed many bridges, and know there can only be a few left in front of us, before the Last Bridge, then we look back at our beginning. The first few bridges we had to cross.
We forget the bad things over the years, remember the good ones. And long to go back. Back to our roots.

For some, it's back to the Heartland. To the simple times.
For others, it's back to the sea. When the air was pure, and the beach not crowded.
For others, back to the Mountains. Where the snow was white, and the beautiful Pines or Aspen could be seen for miles.

But is it the place we want to go back to? Or is it the period in time? When we still believed in the goodness in people? When children were not killing children. When we never locked a door. When the air we breathed was fresh and clean. When the food we ate was never thought to be "contaminated". When we gave promises, made vows, we did so fully intending to keep the promise, keep the vow. To a time when respect, one for the other, was important for all.

So, were the bridges we look back on better?
Were they worse?
Or merely different? And because we remember the way we choose to, the way that's most comfortable for us, are our memories true, or do we make them as we would have liked them to be?
I don't think the answer to this is the same with everyone.
As in most things, its our own personal choice, our view, as we want it to be.

God Bless and keep you.
