I would like to introduce you
to someone very special to me.
I have many names for her.
Daughter-In-Law
Daughter, (as loved as if she were my own)
Mother of one of my Grandsons.
Ex-Daughter-In-Law, (which breaks my heart)
Most important, my favorite name for her:
My friend.

She, during her years as an "in-law",
carved a special place for herself that
no piece of paper could destroy.

Yes, she has been a single parent,
but let me tell you what KIND of single parent.

She has shown her love,
accepted her responsibility
and been a wonderful parent
of an outstanding son, my Grandson.
Her Son will graduate from High School
 with full honors.
made the All State high school football team,
earned his Eagle Scout Badge,
is a Youth Minister at the church,
has already earned 15 hours of College Credits,
AND has been awarded a full scholarship
 for College in the fall.
The list goes on and on. I know
his Mother is proud of him,
and I am proud of his Mother
for giving him the love,
and commitment to excellence that he shows.

So, to you, the Mother of one of my Grandson's,
I say this. As proud of him as I am,
I am also proud of you.
For being who you are, and for what you have done.
I am proud to call you by any of the names above,
but most of all, I am proud of your love for me,
proud to call you friend,
and have You call Me Friend.

You have many years ahead of you,
years to grow, to find the happiness
you so richly deserve.
I pray these years will be good to you,
and that we can continue to share them.

I love you, we all love you,
most of all, we admire and respect you.
