Finding Inner Peace

Inner Peace, how do we find it?
Is it real, attainable,
or is it only a dream? A fantasy?
A hunger deep inside us, in our soul
that is unexplainable
to anyone who has never felt it.

It's not unhappiness
in the true sense of the word.
Can't really be called discontent,
merely a deep emptiness that we feel
yet there is nothing to fill it.

I wondered if everyone felt it,
the emptiness, the hunger, the need
or if only a few had needs
beyond the "ordinary".

I think that each of us
are very different in our needs.
Some of us accept
from the very beginning
the things we can have,
and the things wecannot.

We accept what life gives us
and don't even question
if there can be more
because we are afraid
 if we do question,
we will find
we have missed a lot of living.

We were content, safe,
in the world we had created.
And we were afraid if we wanted more,
admitted to needing more,
 and tried to attain it,
 we would fail.

So by not searching,
by not trying,
we eliminated the risk of failure.
Better safe, content, not questioning,
than to admit to needs
and fail to attain them.

I questioned it all,
 not the material things,
but the inner content,
the calm acceptance
that some showed
to whatever life dealt them to cope with.

The acceptance, comes from faith.
 Faith in yourself,
faith in our God,
and faith
that there will be a better tomorrow.
Faith in the basic goodness of people.
A firm belief that our God does love us.
He watches over us, cares for us,
and with faith and patience,
we do find the "inner Peace"
 we sought for so long.

Faith that we are loved,
by someone who may yet to be found,
but loved fully and unconditionally
for not only what we are,
but all we hope to be.

Faith that as we are not perfect,
neither are others.
Faith that as I accept the imperfection
in others, they too will accept mine.

Yes, Inner Peace is achieved
by questioning, by searching for answers
and after finding the answer,
 absolute, complete Faith
that miracles DO happen,
that God is watching over us,
and that there is

A Season For All Things.
