Where is it? This Enchanted Land we search for?

Not a land we can look at, touch, or see, but rather

it's a state of mind. A belief in ourselves, in fantasy,

in true unconditional love that accepts us as we are,

not as they wish we were, or imagine we are.

Oh yes, we search far and wide for this enchanting

state of mind, this love, peace, hope for our

"heaven on earth", this person who is going to love us

but what happens when we find them?

We are afraid.

We are afraid of the unknown.

The vulnerability.

We want more, want it all, the love, the respect, the

promise of a new beginning. The chance to live like

we need to live, in order to feel fulfilled, but we are

afraid. We can go just so far, each step cautious,

slow, tentative, always ready to jump back, if we

feel threatened.

We have lived so long with "Comfortable",

With "Predictable",

With "Safe",

"Taking For Granted",

Being "taken for granted",

that we are terrified of the challenge that our

"Search For Enchantment" has brought us.

So we make a choice, do we dare let ourselves accept

what we have found? Meet the challenge of

"newness', finally let ourselves believe in Fairies, in

Unicorns, in true eternal love?

Or do we jump back, to the familiar, the safe,

the predictable and comfortable?

Happiness?

or

Sameness?

Comfortable?

or

Euphoric?

Some cannot meet a challenge. They are afraid of

failing, at a task or in a relationship, so they stay

in the "safe comfortable niche" they are in.

They live their life, "safe", but inside, where no one

can see, they live their world of fantasy.

Needing, but afraid to accept.

Unloved because they are afraid to love.

Unhappy, but no one knows because they hide behind

their "mask".

A wasted life, an unfulfilled dream, an empty heart,

but safe and comfortable.
