Our Cross To Bear 

As we journey down life's highway,
we each have a cross to bear
sometimes it's very heavy but
we take it every where. 

A friend may try to help
to share our heavy load
but its still ours to carry
as we trudge on down the road. 

When my bodies bent almost double
from the cross that I must bear
and I meet someone on my journey
who is full of woe and care.
If I stop for just a little while
share a smile or help him down the road
then continue on my journey
my cross a little lighter
for I saw his heavy load.

Now I know we all have a cross to bear
sometimes its light, other times heavy
But we take it every where.
So share the load, if just for a little while
And greet the ones you meet on your journey
with love and a smile.

Then further on your journey,
you'll find your cross is not so heavy
Because your load's been shared.
